Midnight Rain is perhaps the farthest Taylor Swift albums comes to meeting my expectations - not having a hit prior to this point was clearly a miss. If you're going to release an album with no indications about the original sound, it well should be a really amazing record. Midnights is not one of Taylor Swift best album. It's not that horrible. However, the method to its release does not complement what we have. 

Taylor Swift may have turned it more fascinating by interjecting some interludes or spitting words of Taylor Swift Cat's thoughts that kept her conscious. Perhaps, voice notes, similar to Adele on 30. Looking at the cover, I was anticipating something personal, dark, and introspective. Taylor Swift songs have always been exceptional at telling other folk's folklore narratives. That enticing storytelling spark doesn't seem to transfer on this Midnight Album. I'm hoping it grows on you. I enjoy Maroon, although I'm not a fan of the jingle bells instrumental on SOTB.

Taylor Swift Midnight Album is a respectable attempt. But I do not however suppose it paid off. Once you listen to the tracks, the basic basis to Midnight being an album about Taylor Swift's midnight thoughts falls apart. I'm hoping for Swift to swiftly go all out with pop music on her bangers, la Max Martin bops, and her next album. This is where I believe Taylor Swift songs mostly shine.
